The city features America’s first Boardwalk, beaches, casinos, nightlife, and free citywide events throughout the summer season. Participants will also interact with people from around the world in a diverse, international setting. Atlantic City’s location provides easy access to major U.S. cities, including Philadelphia (1 hour), New York City (2.5 hours), and Washington, D.C. (3 hours). On days off, participants may explore museums, memorials, historic landmarks, and well-known attractions such as Lucy the Elephant and the Absecon Lighthouse. Excellent public transportation makes travel accessible and affordable. This placement offers a cultural experience that combines coastal living, American city life, and travel opportunities, allowing participants to explore multiple aspects of U.S. culture during their program.

These venues are known for their lively atmosphere, high guest volume, and fast-paced operations, especially during peak summer months. Participants will gain hands-on experience in the U.S. hospitality industry while supporting daily food and beverage operations in a dynamic, team-based setting. This placement is well-suited for participants who enjoy active workdays, interacting with guests, and contributing to a fun, high-volume environment. Weekly working hours: average 32 per week

Start Date/End Date: June 1st- June 22nd until September 1st-30th

Conditions: 

  • 2ND YEAR W&T PARTICIPANTS PREFERRED
  • Upper-Intermediate to Advanced English.
  • Must be able to start working according to DS start dates.
  • Training is paid at the hourly rate. International adult participants will be trained in several different positions. Training may take up to two weeks. Participants may not receive full hours until the training period is complete.
  • Participants receive a 40% discount on all food and retail purchases.
  • Participants and employees may be subject to pre-employment, random, reasonable-cause, and/or post-accident drug testing.
  • The employer provides a uniform. Participants must purchase khaki trousers or short trousers and black, slip-resistant, close-toed shoes.
  • This job takes 10 days to 2 weeks to start due to a complex onboarding process.

1. Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville

  • Host: Must greet guests with a smile, in a friendly and welcoming manner, control the flow of traffic, and maintain guest areas. Must greet guests with a smile, in a friendly and welcoming manner, control the flow of traffic, and maintain guest areas / $15.92 per hour
  • Bar Back: Stocking and maintaining bar supplies, assisting bartenders with basic drink preparation, keeping bar areas clean and organized, and properly disposing of waste. Setting up and breaking down the bar, monitoring inventory, and alerting management to supply needs. Provide friendly, helpful support to guests and the bar team, assist in training new staff when asked, and follow all health and safety standards. Additional tasks may involve dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining bathrooms and high-touch areas / $6,05 per hour + tips
  • Busser: Assists servers and management to achieve a successful shift. Stocks replenish, retrieve, and supply. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision / $6,05 per hour + tips
  • Food Runner: Delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately. Acting as the point of contact between Front of the House and Back of the House staff. Communicating food orders to chefs and paying attention to priorities (e.g., food allergies). Assists servers and management in achieving a successful shift. Stocks replenish, retrieve, and supplies /$6.05 per hour + tips 
  • Retail Associate: Greeting guests with professionalism and friendliness, providing a helpful shopping experience, and efficiently handling sales and returns using the point-of-sale
    system. Responsibilities also involve accurate cash handling, ensuring merchandise is ticketed and priced correctly, and maintaining a clean, organized sales floor/ $15.92 per hour
  • Line or Prep Cook: Preparing and cooking food to company specifications while ensuring guest safety and satisfaction. Responsibilities include setting up stations according to guidelines, preparing food according to recipes and plating standards, and coordinating food orders for efficient, timely service. Cooks are expected to execute prep and line station tasks independently under normal conditions and to maintain cleanliness throughout the shift, including cleaning station equipment at the end of each shift. Additional duties include restocking and breaking down stations, managing daily requisitions, and ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation of products. Maintaining organized and clean coolers, freezers, and prep areas is essential. The role requires following all company policies, assisting with other tasks as directed by management, and performing duties with urgency and attention to safety/ $15.92 per hour
  • Dishwasher: Responsible for cleaning all dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and utensils within the unit and follows company-directed guidelines for sanitation and cleanliness by performing the following duties: Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment for all Staff Members and guests. Scrapes, racks, and stacks glassware/plateware/silverware properly in dishwasher. • Sweeps, mops, and washes pots, dishes, etc. by using hand or dish equipment and cooler detailing. Removes waste, garbage, and recyclable materials from the kitchen area to appropriate receptacles. Stocks all glassware/plateware/silverware as cleaned. Maintains all dishware washing procedures and the continuous cleaning schedule of the dish machine every two hours. Maintains a clean workstation and equipment appearance and assists in overall kitchen cleanliness. Assists in the stocking, cleaning, and closing of all stations as directed. Assists kitchen staff with prep work. Cross-trains on prep stations and assists those co-workers when needed to meet guest satisfaction/ $15.92 per hour

2. LandShark Bar & Grill
