Sandpiper Beachfront Motel – Old Orchard Beach, ME

Company Description and Location: 

Our seaside community boasts a diverse and large population of up to 75,000 in the summer as it hosts vacationers from all over the United States, but primarily from New England and the mid-Atlantic states, Canada, and Europ,e looking to enjoy our miles-long stretch of fine beach, clean ocean wate,r and all the attractions that Old Orchard Beach has to offer. Old Orchard Beach is a very interesting town during the summer months with organized events and a 7-mile-long sandy beach. Portland is close by, and Boston is around a 2-hour train ride away.

An affordable, family-oriented, clean, and quiet vacation right on the beach. We have Motel Room units with Kitchenettes and Cottage and Apartment rentals for families, all with Air Conditioning included. Our Ocean Front location offers ocean views from some rooms, and we have an oceanfront porch to enjoy the beach. The Sandpiper Motel is located on a 7-mile stretch of sandy beach and is a short 5-7 minute walk to the downtown shops, restaurants, amusements, and the famous Old Orchard Beach Pier.

Weekly working hours: avg. 32h + per week

Start Date/End Date: June 1st – 18th until September 27th – 30th; 

Conditions: 

• Upper Intermediate to Proficient English level is required.
• Must be able to start working according to DS start dates.
• Front Desk Agent: Answering the phones, taking reservations, check-ins, addressing customer complaints/issues, groundskeeping, multi-tasking, and light housekeeping / $18 per hour.
• Laundry Attendant: Operating washing machines and dryers, folding and sorting towels, sheets, and motel fabrics. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift / $17 per hour.
• Housekeeper: Cleaning the rooms (making beds, sweeping the floors, cleaning the bathroom, dusting, changing the sheets), sweeping the outdoors, and providing customer service. Looking for motivated participants with a great attitude and work ethic. Additional tasks may be assigned by management as needed  / $16 per hour.
• Paid hourly training. Please note your hours may be less than 32 hours weekly during the initial training period.
• A shirt will be provided by the host employer. Please bring comfortable, closed-toed shoes.

Housing and Transportation:

• Housing is provided by the employer at a cost of $135 per week. $300 refundable deposit due upon arrival.
• Housing is located about 1.5 miles from the worksite. Participants can walk or use a bike to get to and from work.
