Blackberry Inn Bed and Breakfast – Yosemite National Park, CA

Company Description and Location: 

Enjoy the beauty and history of California’s Gold Country while working near Yosemite National Park! The Blackberry Inn is surrounded by scenic countryside with opportunities for hiking, picnicking, and exploring nature right outside your door. For nearby adventures, visit Columbia State Historic Park, an old California Gold Rush town, or Jamestown, where you can pan for gold and explore quaint shops and cafés. Public bus routes and local shuttles make it possible to reach nearby towns on your days off. If you enjoy trains, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown features historic steam locomotives. For a glimpse into the past, visit Bodie State Historic Park, an authentic Gold Rush ghost town. The north gate of Yosemite National Park is only 12 miles from the Inn. A park pass will be provided to each participant, and the employer will help arrange shared transportation for group trips into the park. Explore famous sites such as Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and El Capitan.

The Blackberry Inn offers a clean, welcoming workplace surrounded by nature on 36 acres of private land adjacent to the National Forest. Enjoy a quiet country setting with views of rolling hills, fresh mountain air, and friendly animals—including Arabian horses, dogs, and cats. Perfect for those who love the outdoors, with nearby opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, and swimming. Experienced participants may have the chance to help with horses (optional and not a work requirement).

Weekly working hours: avg. 32h + per week

Start Date/End Date: June 1st – 16th until September 25th – 30th 

Conditions: 

• Advanced to Proficient English required;
• Must be able to start working according to DS dates;
• Housekeeper, Breakfast Attendant: Breakfast Service (6:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.) – Set up the dining area and tables before guests arrive. Serve breakfast, coffee, and drinks to guests. Clear dishes and tidy the area after meals. Deliver meals to guest rooms if requested.  Housekeeping (after breakfast service) – Clean guest rooms and bathrooms (toilets, mirrors, tubs/showers, floors, walls). Change linens and make beds neatly. Dust, vacuum, and remove trash. Wash, dry, fold, and restock towels and linens. Refill guest room amenities and supplies. Maintain the cleanliness of common areas and storage spaces. Assist in other areas of the Inn as requested by the owners.
• Training will be provided. The training is paid at an hourly rate. 
• Must bring comfortable shoes to work in. Clothing should be nice shorts and pants. No clothing in poor condition with holes or tears in it. For the shirt, no tank tops. Nice shirts, such as a polo style, are good.

Housing and Transportation:

• Housing provided by the employer at a weekly cost of $50 and depostit of $100 upon arrival. Housing is a free-standing cabin across the street from the Inn.
• Walking. Very remote location. The nearest town, Groveland, is just over 10 miles away. There are two restaurants and a gas station within walking distance of the Inn.
