Company Description and Location: 

Atlantic City with its close proximity to Washington D.C. Philadelphia and New York offers many options. Visit museums, as well as various memorials set throughout the city in the forms of gardens, statues, and museums. Lucy the Elephant, Absecon Lighthouse, America’s first Boardwalk.

You will have constant customer interaction, as well as a chance to meet residents and vacationing tourists (tourists primarily visit during the spring and summer) from all over the US and abroad. Atlantic City is a must-stop location for top-name concerts, championship boxing matches, celebrity sightings, a fun family atmosphere, and more.

Escape to Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville (MV) or LandShark Bar & Grill (LS) Atlantic City, located inside the Resorts Hotel Casino. The restaurant features a stage for nightly live entertainment, a tiki bar, and Buffett-inspired accent pieces throughout including a giant blender at the restaurant’s entrance. A seasonal exterior deck on the Boardwalk will allow guests to enjoy alfresco dining or a drink topped off with a gentle ocean breeze.

Weekly working hours: avg. 30h per week

Start Date/End Date:  June 1st – 24th until September 1st – 30th

Conditions: 

  • Upper-intermediate to Advanced English required;
  • Must be able to start working according to DS start dates;
  • 2nd-year work and travel participants wanted;
  • Server: Takes orders and delivers food and beverages on time. Ensures guests receive immediate, friendly, and personalized service to build their intent to return.$5.26+tips
  • Bar Back: Maintain bar areas, floors, and surrounding work areas by keeping the area swept, mopped, and free from spills, trash, and debris. Removes waste, garbage, and recyclable materials from the bar area and workstations. Removes dishes, glasses, and cutlery for bartenders. Scrapes and stacks plate ware in the dishwashing area. Replenishes ice, beer, and stock. Taps beer kegs. Greets guests with a smile, in a friendly manner. Assists bartenders and management to achieve a successful shift. Must be physically strong. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision/$5.26+tips;
  • Busser: Maintain the front façade of the building, toilets, floors, and surrounding work areas by keeping the area swept, mopped, and free from spills, trash, and debris. Removes waste, garbage, and recyclable materials from tables and workstations. Removes dishes, glasses, and cutlery, and resets tables. Scrapes and stacks plate ware in the dishwashing area. Greets guests with a smile, in a friendly manner. Assists servers and management to achieve a successful shift. Stocks replenish, retrieves, and supplies. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision/$5.26+tips;
  • Host: Must greet guests with a smile, in a friendly and welcoming manner, controls the flow of traffic, and maintains guest areas. Handles initial and final contact with all guests positively. Moves and adjusts tables to accommodate different party sizes. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Maintains appearance in the entrance area. Must be able to stand for long periods in the heat and hot sun. Advanced English required/ $15;
  • Line or Prep Cook: Prepares food according to recipes. Coordinates food orders to ensure timely delivery. Prepares food by measuring, cutting, and peeling. Ensures all products are stored, labeled, and rotated. Ensures cleanliness of all freezers, and prep areas. Assists in kitchen cleanliness, including all station equipment, and utensils (flat tops, grills, storage drawers) Cleans all dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and utensils. Removes waste, garbage, and recyclable materials from the kitchen. Stocks clean closes all stations. Flexible and willing to be trained in all kitchen positions/$16; 
  • Dishwasher:  Ensures cleanliness of all freezers, and prep areas. Assists in kitchen cleanliness, including all station equipment, and utensils (flat tops, grills, storage drawers) Cleans all dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and utensils. Removes waste, garbage, and recyclable materials from the kitchen. Stocks clean, close all stations. Flexible and willing to be trained in all kitchen positions /$15;
  • 40% Discount on all Food and Retail;
  • The training is paid at an hourly rate. Students will be trained in several different positions;
  • T-shirt – First Issue Free, students should bring black non-slip shoes and black pants;

Housing and Transportation:

  • Accommodation must be arranged with an approximate cost of $135 – to $150 per week. A refundable security deposit may be required;
  •  Transportation – Walk or bike.
