Situated on a hill at the head of Old Harbor, allowing for panoramic views, the Inn is nestled in the heart of Block Island’s historic district. The finest restaurants, shopping, and beaches are just a stone’s throw away. Built in 1882, the Inn exemplifies the finest in Victorian gingerbread architecture in the Northeast. Its magnificent three-story design and positioning as the backdrop for our illustrious Statue of Rebecca make the Inn one of Block Island’s most photographed landmarks.

Weekly working hours: avg. 32h  per week

Start Date/End Date:  June 1st – 10th until September 30th

Conditions: 

• Upper-Intermediate to Advanced English required. 
• Must be able to start working according to DS start dates.
• Training is paid at the hourly rate. Training may take up to two weeks. Independent adult participants may not receive full hours until the training period is complete.
• Retail Store Clerk: Assists customers by providing friendly and helpful service, answering questions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include operating the cash register, stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, maintaining a clean and inviting store environment, and supporting the team with daily operations. Strong communication skills, reliability, and a customer-focused attitude are essential / $16 per hour
• Housekeeping: Responsible for maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests. Duties include cleaning guest rooms and public areas, changing linens, restocking supplies, and ensuring all areas meet the inn’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive attitude are essential. Standing and moving throughout the hotel for the duration of each shift is essential, as is the ability to lift up to 50 pounds (22 kilograms) / $18 per hour

Housing and Transportation:

• Housing provided by the employer at a weekly cost of $100 and a refundable deposit of $300. 
• Transportation: Walk or bike.
