Host Company Description:
This New York/London-based law firm specializes in immigration law and assists with U.S.–UK services that aid businesses in a number of ways. They also aid with family and individual cases involving visitor visa applications, renunciation of citizenship, and registration of children born abroad. They are looking for eager and inspired young trainees or interns who are interested in gaining skills and experience in immigration law.
Program Description:
- Participate in opportunities to learn and work on all aspects of cases
- Conduct intake, legal research, and investigation
- Prepare and file complaints
- Participate in deposition, trial, resolution, and appeal processes
- Provide support to lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants
- Gain familiarity with law software and research applications
Applicant Qualifications:
- To apply for the Internship program, applicants must be full-time university students with an academic focus in law studies OR have graduated less than 12 months from the internship begin date.
- To apply for the Trainee program, applicants must hold law degrees and have at least 1 year of professional work experience related to the degree, OR be career professionals of 5 or more years in the field
- Applicants must have advanced English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with legal research
- Familiarity with drafting legal documents
- Persuasive, analytical, and creative writing skills
- Interest and passion for immigration law
