Daddy Mac’s Beach Grille – Surf City, NC

Daddy Mac’s Beach Grille is a family-owned and operated restaurant located in the middle of Surf City on beautiful Topsail Island in North Carolina. Both with full ABC permits is open seven days a week for dinner at 5:00 p.m.

Topsail Island is a twenty-six-mile-long barrier island off the North Carolina coast. Commonly known as a sanctuary for sea turtles, as well as for those seeking superb beaches, clean water, and quiet, natural splendor. The area consists of three main beach communities – North Topsail Beach, Surf City, and Topsail Beach.

Weekly working hours: avg. 32 per week

Start Date/End Date: June 1st- June 15th until September 30^th

Conditions: 

• Intermediate English;
• Dishwasher: Must be a team player with good communication skills; Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure; Must be in excellent physical condition and endurance; able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment. Must have the ability to work with diverse groups of people. Must be able to tolerate fluctuating temperature and exposure to heat. Must be in good health and physical condition and have the ability to stand for the full length of your shift/ $15.00
• Food Preparation: Must have good communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups of people. Must be able to tolerate fluctuating temperature and exposure to heat. Must be in good health and physical condition and have the ability to stand for the full length of your shift. Duties include but are not limited to learning the menu, preparing food (cutting veggies, cooking/preparing menu items), serving, and bussing tables. Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees, etc. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out the trash, etc/ $12.00
• Training is provided at a regular wage. Length of training varies on how many positions you are trained in, how quickly you learn, and can perform the required duties at or above a satisfactory level;
• 50% off all meals when eating in the restaurant. The discount does not apply to take-out meals. Discount is reserved only for employees, not friends;
• Must purchase and wear black dress pants during work hours. You must bring a black pants dress/work pants (NO jeans), black, closed-toe, non-skid shoes;

Housing and Transportation:

• Accommodation is provided by the employer at the cost of  $50 per week, per student. Deposit $100 per person /Deposit is refundable if you lave on good terms at the end of the contract. Everyone in the housing is responsible for damages & will be paid immediately. No refunds will be given. If damages are more than your security deposit, you will pay this immediately, as well. No exceptions.
