You will have frequent customer interaction and the opportunity to meet both local residents and tourists from across the U.S. and abroad (tourists primarily visit in spring and summer). Weekly working hours: avg. 32 per week

Start Date/End Date: June 1st – June 23rd until September  26th 

Conditions:

  • Intermediate English;
  • Housemen: The Houseman’s duties include but are not limited to: transporting trash, sanitizing carts, breaking down boxes, and delivering supplies to housekeeping. Spot cleaning carpets, including removing gum, waxing, buffing service areas. Steam cleaning upholstery. Moving equipment. Clean “high areas” using a ladder, including windows. Reporting maintenance defects. You will also have to move furniture as necessary for cleaning purposes, assume responsibilities and assist the common area person and housekeeping department when needed. Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the hotel areas. Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shift hours. Must not have allergies to dust or cleaning chemicals. Must have the following abilities: bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, climbing, lifting, carrying/ $15.13 per hour
  • Guest Room Attendant: As a housekeeper, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, ensuring they are welcoming to new guests and fresh to those continuing their stay. You will verify room vacancies and follow set cleaning procedures, including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and mirrors, emptying trash, making beds, and replenishing towels and amenities. You will ensure assigned room keys are kept secure, restock supplies as needed, and keep housekeeping carts, linen supplies, and supply closets organized and fully stocked. Any maintenance or guest-related needs must be promptly reported to the Supervisor. This position requires you to work in a fast-paced, customer-centered environment where you may encounter noise and task-related stress. Standing and moving throughout the hotel for the duration of each shift is essential, as is the ability to lift up to 50 pounds (22 kilograms). The role includes working on holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts. Participants must be comfortable handling cleaning chemicals and should not have allergies to dust or cleaning agents/ $15.13 per hour
  • Laundry Attendant: The Laundry Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring all linens meet hotel standards of cleanliness, presentation, and availability for guests. You will be responsible for sorting and counting soiled linens, loading them into washing machines, and keeping the machines running continuously to meet demand. Once cleaned, linens must be transferred to dryers, ironed, folded, and organized for storage. Your duties also include handling linen carts, sorting items into specific categories, and maintaining an accurate count of linens to ensure supplies meet daily requirements. This role requires navigating the heat of the dryer rooms and managing the physical demands of repetitive tasks, including lifting and moving up to 25 pounds (11.34 kilograms), pushing and pulling heavy linen carts, bending and kneeling, and throwing linens down chutes. Standing for the entirety of each shift is also common, with limited downtime due to the steady workflow needed to keep up with guest demands. Attention to detail, stamina, and resilience are key to success. Working in close coordination with other team members is essential, as is promptly reporting any equipment issues to the supervisor to prevent delays. Maintaining a clean and organized laundry room environment is crucial, as each step of this process impacts guest satisfaction/ $15.13 per hour
  • Training at your assigned store is paid at the hourly rate;
  • Participants will be provided with uniforms by their employer. Uniforms should be kept clean and presentable to maintain a professional appearance. Participants must bring their own black pants, and closed-toe, slip-resistant shoes in black;

Housing and Transportation:

  • Housing will be provided by the employer, at a cost of  $185.00 per week, per student (Hotel room). A deposit of  $555 will be paid to the employer upon arrival. If you prefer not to live on-site, you may find your own accommodations through trusted platforms;
  • Transportation – Walking.
