Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, is in the south-central part of the state on the Cook Inlet. It’s known for its cultural sites, including the Alaska Native Heritage Center, which displays traditional crafts, stages dances, and presents replicas of dwellings from the area’s indigenous groups. The city is also a gateway to nearby wilderness areas and mountains including the Chugach, Kenai, Denali, and Talkeetna.

49th State Brewing Company and Restaurant is located in downtown Anchorage. This brand new restaurant is a multi-level restaurant with rooftop outdoor seating, a banquet hall, and also has a fully functioning brewery on-premise. This is an exciting, fun, fast-paced work environment in one of the most beautiful places on earth. We promote teamwork and hold our employees to the highest of standards within a casual, fun atmosphere.

Weekly working hours: avg. 32h per week

Start Date/End Date: June 1st – 25th until September 30th

Conditions: 

  • Upper -intermediate to Advanced English level is required, depending on the job position;
  • Must arrive on time and start working according to DS dates;
  • Host: Must be 21 years of age or old. Greeting guests, monitoring the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and clean tables, estimating wait times for guests, managing the guest waiting list, and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting. Responsible for answering the telephone; Booking reservations; Moving tables together to accommodate large parties. The host will also assist as a back server, food expedited, and assist in cleaning duties whenever needed. Strong communication skills, strong work ethic, work well with others, foster teamwork, ability to multi-task, follow directions; $10.34 per hour
  • Dishwasher:  responsible for unloading the dishes and cutlery brought to them by bussers and loading them into dish trays. The trays are then placed into the commercial washers and are cleaned automatically. The commercial dishwashing machines do not accommodate larger pots and pans, so you will be required to wash things by hand, the old-fashioned way. Dishwashers are responsible for maintaining their workspace and keeping sanitary conditions at all times. This is a hard, physically demanding job. You will also be responsible for sweeping, cleaning, and trash removal. Must clean grease traps. Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift 50lbs; $11.50 per hour
  • Busser, Server Assistant: Must be 21 years or older to apply. This is a great entry-level position to gain restaurant experience. This is a fast-paced position, where you will earn good tips if you work hard, have a positive attitude, and are a team player. You will be responsible for clearing guest tables and re-setting them. You will also be support for the wait staff. Additional tasks may be assigned by your manager.; $10.34 per hour + tips
  • Food Runner: Must be 21yrs or older. Some experience in positions involving customer service or food and beverage service is preferred. Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift. This is a multi-floor establishment and you will be required to climb stairs. This is a physically demanding position. This is a fast -paced position and you will earn good tips if you like to hustle.;  $10.34 per hour + possible tips
  • Prep Cook: Responsibilities include preparing cold foods, slicing vegetables, meats, preparing menu items in accordance to recipes, and many other tasks designated by the Kitchen Manager. Prep cooks are responsible to maintain the area they work in and must adhere to the cleanliness and sanitation policies in place. Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift 50lbs.; $13.00
  • Line Cook: This is an advanced level, fast-paced position. Previous kitchen experience required. Line Cooks are responsible for preparation, assembly, and final presentation of ingredients according to the 49th State Brewing Company’s recipes and specifications and ensuring the quality of cooked/prepared food by testing them.; $13.00
  • Paid hourly training;
  • The employer will provide a uniform at a cost of $20. You must bring non-slip, closed-toe & heel shoes, and black slacks. No jeans;

Housing and Transportation:

  • Must arrange own housing, leads will be given by the sponsor;
  • Walk or bike to work;
